Original price was: CAD$499.Current price is: CAD$399.-20% OFF

I am thrilled to invite you to my first live event in Toronto. I will be teaching and focusing on both my first book, designed primarily for clinicians, and my new book which is like a practical manual for everyone. If you’ve ever considered visiting Toronto, this is the perfect opportunity to explore the city while engaging in meaningful work and experiencing the vibrant energy of spring here in May.

Toronto

This in-person 2-day event is not just about learning; it’s also about gathering with like-minded individuals who are passionate about incorporating embodiment into our work. Together, we will explore these transformative practices in the context of a diverse city renowned for its amazing food choices – we can work hard during the day and come together for a tasty dinner while nourishing our souls and building lifelong connections with each other.

I have had the privilege of teaching around the world, and now I am eager to cultivate a strong polyvagal felt sense community right here in my hometown. Whether you’re a long-time follower or are new to these practices, this is a fantastic opportunity to deepen your understanding and practice.

Join Jan Winhall, MSW, FOT, a renowned trauma and addiction therapist and core faculty member at the Polyvagal Institute, for a new workshop in Toronto! This two-day, in-person course on the Felt Sense Polyvagal Model (FSPM) will revolutionize your approach to trauma and addiction treatment.

Drawing on 45 years of clinical practice and insights from her book, Treating Trauma and Addiction with the Felt Sense Polyvagal Model, Jan will guide you through a depathologizing, body-centered model that challenges traditional top-down modalities by embracing—rather than leaving out—the body’s own wisdom.

Why is this important? Because from a polyvagal perspective, what we often label as “disorders” are actually “adaptations”—ways the body has learned to respond to survive difficult or threatening situations. By understanding and accepting the body’s role in these responses, we can see them as natural survival strategies rather than as problems or failures.

FSPM integrates Gendlin’s Felt Sense (interoception) and Porges’ neuroception (nervous system regulation), creating an integrated, anti-oppressive framework. The model is built on five core theories that guide clinicians in embedding embodied processes into their existing therapeutic methods. By viewing trauma and addiction responses as adaptive survival mechanisms, clinicians can move beyond pathologizing to more compassionate, effective care.
